Time Travel

Good Morning

As some of you know, I have been busy with my charity cards and health related issues! So when I popped online this morning and I saw the lovely comments left in my Cats Galore post it really cheered me up. Thank you so very much for taking the trouble to stop buy. xx
However, distracted as I have been, I had this wee idea in my head for days and I just could not shake it ! I know - what is my brain like if this was in my head!! I had done something similar but more
elaborate for one of my son's
birthdays ecause he is a student of Electrical Engineering and I wanted to do a smaller version.  So I went for it! It is a fat page and I have never tried one of those before.

M & M
(Materials and Method)

Tim Holtz - Grunge Paper
Tim Holtz - Lost and Found Paper Stash
Ranger self adhesive foil paper
La Blanche Stamp - Text and Lady
Creative Expressions cream card pieces shaped as nuts.
Distress Rock Candy Crackle Paint
Distress embossing powder - milled lavender
Distress inks, alcohol inks and promarkers
Tim Holtz Embossing Folder
 -  sheet music part of textured fades I think.
Creative Expressions Screwhead  Brads
Small metal brads from my crafty stash.
Tim Holtz Memo Pin
Tim Holtz metal cog
some covered wire from crafty stash

I cut a four inches square of Grunge Paper
I cut a four inches square of Clocks but centred the clock I wanted
Four inch square of adhesive foil
I painted the clocks paper with rock candy crackle, left to dry
Embossed the foil, then used stream alcohol ink over foil to enhance illusion and added some distress ink to dull down.
I covered some of the card bolts in foil and left some plain
I then used a variety of distress ink and promarkers to give the bolts distressed metal effect.
I stamped the image onto clock face with "gathered twigs"  inks (not just for christmas!) and used milled lavender on top, omce this was dry I scrubbed the crystals off in places with a stiff brush ( I don't think the stamp comes out at all in the pic but even in reality it is a very faint. I wanted it faint but sorry not visible in photo (don't think anyway!) :{}

I tore the foil centrally, and layered (from bottom) grunge paper, clock paper and foil. In the centre of the clock face I made a countdown hand from a memo pin and a centre of one metal cog and faux metal nut. the holding it all together I pierced  through all layers in a corner, inserted brad through centre of card bollts and attached. Did this for two corners and then attached wire which I curled around piercing tool. Repeated this for other corners pulled the wire about  a bit and added some small brads on either side.

I would like to add it to the following challenges:

    1. Thank you so much, Linda I think it does have a bit of the steam punk about it. When I make things like this I always think of them as my grunge projects but worry about missing the mark but such fun to do as I love getting messy! But then I want to go back and do pretty cards! xx
