My first altered domino and it is an altered domino book!
The images were offered as a free kit from Rick St Dennis (Thank You) for a limited time which I got via Leigh's blog, where there
is also a link to the tutorial on the kit from Monique.
(Thank You) The kit was a collaboration between Rick St Dennis and Monique and you can read all about it on Leigh's blog,
It was a real learning experience to make this.
Not only had I not altered even one domino before
I had to learn how to make the book using the tutorial.
I had to learn how to make the book using the tutorial.
There are things that I will do differently if I do this again,
for instance I definitely would not use images on both
sides again.
I opted to use alcohol inks to alter my dominoes, the images on the covers are attached by and coated with
Claudine Hellmuth Medium. I added some little accents for interest. I coloured the images using
polychromos pencils using a minimum of
colours. And added blue ribbon.
The images are very small which was a bit challenging but
they are all so lovely it was also very enjoyable.
