Good Evening / Good Morning, All
Welcome to the August Blog Hop from Smeared and Smudged Forum.
It is all about the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe (hence Poe-etic).
I have chosen The Valley of Unrest, a very beautiful poem full of rich imagery
using flowers, gemstones, and shades of purple.
It reminded me of Medieval Scots Court Poetry in that respect and, interestlngly enough, Poe mentions the Hebrides in the verse!
I have printed out the poem in full for you to enjoy and it has been
die cut and inked and mounted onto purple cooredinations which
has been embossed and sanded and all of this has been mounted onto
cream webbing.

I put a photograph of the man himself into a cameo and placed it centrally
tied with purple/silver cord.
On the right hand side I have stamped La Blanche lillies in purple ink
a few times to resemble the lilies over the unnamed grave in the poem.
The gravestone is from Smeared Ink and it has been placed under the lilies and
falling gems to represent the scene from the last six lines of the poem.
I also added a couple of little die cut leaves I covered
with micro beads (love the texture). and placed them around
the grave.
Everything has been mounted onto 12 inch by 12inch
scrapbook paper which has purple and violet tones, dreamy purple
flowers and random words.
I think it ties everything together.
I hope you enjoy the poem and the blog hop!

Vee, this is a beautiful piece! I really adore me some dark gothic and guts and gore, but there is something about art that is subtly chilling that I really love. The words that come to mind when I look at this are beautifully haunting, and I believe you captured the essence of the poem. Thank you for sharing it with us!
