Well the new challenge at LEJ Designs this week is
Button Mania and I might have gone a bit manic with the buttons right enough!
I have used one of Lindsay's newer images
Seahorse
available to buy here at
Anyone who knows me even a bit will know
that one of my most favourite things in the world are seahorses so I have been dying for a good excuse to have a good play with this one. I first of all flipped the image in CAP2 as I could not use just one lol!
Then I printed them out and coloured using promarkers and flexmarkers and cut them out. They are so delightful to colour, as are all of Lindsay's images. I think it comes from her being such a talented artist. Lindsay is not just a creative genius at digital art she is also a talented artist in other media. You should check out her personal blog here for links to art and tutorials. She is also one of the best people it has ever been my privilege to know. Okay, enough of the mushy stuff but it had to be said (sorry, Lindsay! )
The base card is A4 pale blue silk card by Hunkydory and my main layer is a shimmery blue pearlescent A4 sheet, trimmed slightly along the longer sides and embossed with a creative expressions embossing folder it is one of those double sided ones they do.
I wrapped "bobbly effect" wool around the card as it had amazing shades of blue. The blue die cuts are using a set of three sizzix sizzlets flourish dies, which I have arranged quite randomly but still as a sort of frame. I have scattered small blue buttons liberally and randomly around and I have placed shell/sand colored buttons more regularly across the bottom.
We are looking forward to seeing your projects at
LEJ Designs Challenge Blog
