Hello, All
Since it is now May, I changed my blog header photograph to a more Spring-like one. It is a picture taken from my front door. The tree there is often busy with a variety of birds and
I recently heard an owl at night either here on another tree very nearby but was unable to spot it during the day. Still, it was rather lovely to hear, owls have a certain cachet, don't they?
Which brings me to my DT post for this week.

I
have chosen the lovely image, Mr and Mrs, by Theresa Sherman. It
is available from our sponsor,
as are many other beautiful digital and rubber stamps.
I
hope you will join in with our challenge and we are a mixed media blog so you can
enter anything that fits the theme. I
decided to make a wall hanging with a rustic feel, celebrating Spring.
I coloured Teri's sweet image with
alcohol markers and pencils. I used an MDF blank from
Joanna Sheen which measures 11 inches x 5 inches so it is a good size and holes
are helpfully pre-drilled. I used Mod Podge matte finish to cover the plaque with Tim Holtz Lost and Found Paper Stash
from the 12 x12 pad. The wooden leaf embellishment is from Artemio which I
coloured with alcohol markers and Distress Ink. The frayed fabric flower is from Funkie Junkie Boutique (cut
from a roll) and I added metal leaves by Creative Expressions. I cut the
letters H O M E from Tim Holtz grunge paper using Tim Holtz Block Talk XL Sizzix die, coloured
them with gold lacquer pen, dabbing here and there for extra texture. I made the hanger part from hairy string (twine) and
wooden, heart shaped buttons painted with florals.
Happy Spring!
Happy Spring!
All
The Best,
Vee
xx
